Robert A. Cook, MD
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Cook moved to Asheville as a boy, remaining here until he finished high school. After graduating from UNC – Chapel Hill, he earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his family medicine residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and joined Weaverville Family Medicine in 1982.
Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with family (especially being grandfather of seven), woodworking, music, and being active in his church.
Alan H. Feiler, MD
Dr. Feiler grew up in East Northport, NY. He attended college at Cornell University in upstate New York where he met his wife Cindy, who is a practicing Veterinarian in Asheville. Dr. Feiler received his medical degree from State University of New York at Syracuse, where he graduated with honors. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Wake Forest, where he served as chief resident his senior year. Dr. Feiler maintains a clinical professor appointment with Wake Forest University and enjoys having medical students rotate through the office with him. Dr. Feiler’s special interest within Family Medicine include pediatrics, diabetes care, and preventative medicine. Outside the office Dr. Feiler enjoys spending time with his wife and two wonderful daughters. He enjoys being outside in the mountains and loves running, hiking, and cycling.
Nathan Hruska, MD
Dr. Hruska attended The University of Iowa College of Medicine and graduated in 1998. He completed his family medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he served as chief resident during his final year. Dr. Hruska joined Weaverville Family Medicine in 2001 and is the acting president of the corporation. His clinical interests include: preventive health and active lifestyle, pediatric/adolescent health, dermatology/minor skin surgeries and sports medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Hruska enjoys Western North Carolina’s offerings. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking and camping and has been an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America since 2007.
Gayle Valeros, MD
Dr. Valeros’ hometown is Mesa, Arizona. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at JFK Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, women’s health, and diabetes care. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their four dogs, as well as music, gardening, and paper crafts.
Edwin Roley, PA-C
Mr. Roley’s hometown is Portland, OR. He attended Creighton University earning a BS in allied health services. He also spent 21 years in the US Army. His medical interests are lifestyle modification and health maintenance. In his spare time he enjoys long distance horse racing (endurance riding).
Nancy Winebarger, PA-C
Ms. Winebarger’s hometown is Llano, TX. She attended the University of Texas where she earned a BS in nutrition. She then earned her BS-PA at the University of Texas, in Galveston. Ms. Winebarger’s professional interests include diagnosing and managing breast cancer and skin cancer. She enjoys spending time with her two boys. Other hobbies include reading, gardening, and hiking in the mountains.
Maria Oldre, BSN, MSN
Maria is a native to Weaverville, NC and very happy to have returned home. She earned her BSN from Western Carolina University and worked for five years as an emergency room nurse before returning to school at UNC Chapel Hill to earn her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She particularly enjoys the variety of family practice and helping others to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Maria and her husband Jared have two little boys and have recently welcomed a third baby girl. She loves snowboarding, music, sitting around a campfire, and being with family.
Marion Ellis, PT
Marion originally completed her PT degree at East Carolina University. Marion provides us with 25 years of extensive experience and expertise with her clinical interests in the areas of manual therapy in the treatment of spinal dysfunction, and the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal related joint problems.
